The play is very informative in making people aware of RTI which in essence is very powerful. But, there has been a lot of flak in the local media in india on its implementation at the lower levels. Some media organizations like TOI have taken it upon themselves to highlight cases where babus do not cooperate in providing information through RTI. In fact, I think many students in chennai have started ChennaiRTI (chennairti.googlepages.com) to empower people and help them use this right. Apart from implementation issues, there have been questions raised on logistics i.e. if the government machinery (which is not the most efficent, to say the least) can actually handle the influx of RTI queries. Will this eventually blow up into the problem we face with the judiciary where the delay in dispensing justice is the biggest hurdle? Regardless of my playing the role of the devil's advocate, this right is a very strong weapon in a democracy and is definitely something that's very much needed at this age not just to curb corruption but to thin the wall between the administration and the people.
Great acting, sree, it seems comedy comes naturally to you!
